A warm welcome to our new Trustee, Ariana Markowitz

We are pleased to share that Ariana Markowitz is joining the West Green Road/Seven Sisters Development Trust as a Trustee. Ariana is a social urbanist and feminist researcher who specialises in participatory urban design amid conflict. Her research and practice have focused on Latin America for most of the last 10 years, especially El Salvador, but she has also worked on the Middle East, West Africa, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the US. She holds a PhD in Development Planning from UCL and works for Lambeth council as the borough’s Community Safety Engagement Manager. As a resident of Seven Sisters, Ariana will be bringing her experience and expertise to bear in partnership with her neighbours to support and uplift the people who work in, live in, and enjoy our town centre.

Ariana will be aiding the Trust as it facilitates the development of the recently established Community Benefit Society, which will be implementing the Wards Corner Community Plan. She will additionally be advancing other projects with local partners to deliver services that meet community needs, particularly while Latin Village remains closed, and guiding the process to transform the Trust into a charity.
